Southport is well known for the variety of top class events it plays host to. From flying to flowers and food to fireworks, a great mixture of entertainment and festivals are scheduled all year round.

December

Southport's Christmas Festival brings a festive market, seasonal entertainment and a chance to sample local produce to the town centre. 

February

Brighten up a Winter's day by paying a visit to Southport's Jazz on a Winter's Weekend where the rhythm will get you - if you let it!

April

In April the world famous John Smith's Grand National takes place at nearby Aintree Racecourse. Even if you are not an experienced punter, the atmosphere of this incredible event will enthrall you as 40 horses line up ready to tackle the 30 fences ahead.

May

'Foodies' rejoice as the popular Southport Food and Drink Festival returns for its fifth year. Taste flavours from all around the world at the many stalls and marquees, or watch chefs cook up a storm in the live cooking demonstrations that appear throughout the town for a full four days.

Later in the month, a multitude of talent takes centre stage at the Southport International Jazz Festival to celebrate this much loved genre of music.

June

There is plenty of fun to be had in June as both the Southport Fun Fest and the Veterans Day Carnival come to town.

If you like golf, you will love the Amateur Golf Championship, which is held this month at Hillside and Hesketh Golf Clubs, two of the area's best links courses.

July

Witnesses skills in the sky at the Southport Air Show, as expert pilots demonstrate just what makes their aircraft so special. As well as fast jets and jaw dropping aerobatics, there is a fun-packed show village with plenty to keep the whole family entertained (for regular visitors, please note the date change from September to this month).

August

With model aircraft, vintage cars and a bustling show village, Woodvale Rally returns for two great fun-packed days.

The Southport Flower Show is one of the most inspiring, entertaining and authentic flower shows in the UK and one of the Summer's highlights in Southport. With stunning show gardens, the finest flower displays from some of the country's top growers, a food village brimming with quality produce and fine wines, 200 trade exhibitors and a reputations for friendliness, the show constantly surprises and brings visitors back year after year.
