The Ramada Plaza has been named Hotel of the Year at the 2017 Liverpool City Region Tourism awards.
The LCRT Awards celebrates the best of the region’s visitor economy – and the team behind Southport’s best hotel received their award at a glitzy ceremony at St George’s Hall last night.
Visitors to the Liverpool City Region spend £3.64 billion a year, supporting 48,600 jobs in the local economy. The Liverpool region is the fifth most popular destination with international visitors and eighth most popular with domestic visitors.
Ramada Plaza was shortlisted in the category, which was sponsored by ComCab Liverpool, alongside tough competition.
Other nominees were Aloft Liverpool, Jurys Inn, Hotel Indigo, Pullman Hotel and the Titanic Hotel.
General manager of the Ramada Plaza, Enda Rylands, said: “I am absolutely delighted for every member of our team.
“I couldn’t ask for a more hardworking staff, who I can’t thank enough for their efforts, and to be recognised in this way is just incredible.
“There are so many fantastic hotels in the region, so to be regarded as the best is mind-blowing.
“I believe that this award is testament also to the great quality that we have in the visitor economy in Southport. We love being part of the Southport and wider city region tourism offer, and what an offer we have.”
